Coronavirus Update

This morning, 15 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in Sacramento County, bringing the official number to 32, and the number of undiagnosed cases is unknown but thought to be much higher. Because this virus has not been contained and continues to spread in our community, it is critical that we consciously mitigate the threat.

How? SOCIAL DISTANCING. The CDC defines social distancing as the simple action of maintaining a distance of approximately 6 feet from others. By doing this, we can slow down the rate of transmission, protect ourselves, shield our loved ones, and help prevent our hospitals from being overwhelmed.

So, in addition to the recommendations in my previous post:

  • Don’t panic and don’t hoard supplies
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing
  • Don’t touch your face
  • Stay away from sick people
  • Stay home if you feel sick
  • Use surface disinfectant
  • Learn proper use of face masks

I would like to add to the list:

  • Practice social distancing
    • Stay home when possible
    • Reschedule events that involve large groups
    • Avoid crowds, large gatherings, public transportation
    • If it is necessary to be around large group of people, maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and others
    • People in high-risk categories due to age or health-status are encouraged to isolate at home

And don’t forget–if you are exhibiting any of the known symptoms of COVID-19, stay home! Book a phone or video visit with your doctor. Do NOT go to your doctor’s office or hospital unless you are instructed to!

Williams Mobility will be operating throughout this health crisis, and has adopted the following protocols:

  • Passengers will be screened for symptoms (fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath)
  • Vans will be thoroughly sanitized after EVERY trip (ALL surfaces cleaned with disinfecting wipes and/or disinfectant spray)
  • No trips originating at any facility with confirmed cases of COVID-19 (this currently applies to Carlton Elk Grove only)

Stay healthy everyone, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns!
